Justin Verlander called up

Apparently he's going to start the second game of a double header with the Indians on Monday. I was hoping they'd leave him at AA to dominate for a few more starts before giving him a taste of MLB life later this year.

Hopefully he won't get shelled and have his confidence destroyed. I'd say 5+ innings and 4 or fewer runs could be considered a solid debut for a pitcher with a total of 14 innings above A ball. Cleveland doesn't have a great offense, so he could have a shot at a quality start.

Not a bad prediction in hindsight

pretty good prediction block. but the tribe has been averaging something 6.5 runs a game for a good couple weeks. tough place to start for verlander. wish they would have done this at comerica.

also, does this mean there's not much faith in toledo's starters. tigers bypassed the hens and went straight to the wolves for help.

Kenny Baugh would've been the only real choice at Toledo and I'm a little surprised they didn't pick him for the start. His numbers were just a little behind Sean Douglass this year and Douglass has done well in his 2 starts in Detroit.

I think this was a decision made to help Verlander figure out what he needs to work on so he can go back to Erie and come back better next time.
